COVID-19 Updates

Update 5/22/2020:

The Durango Adult Education Center will begin limited Pearson Vue testing today. Social distancing & masks for staff and testers are required.

Update 4/16/2020:

The Durango and Cortez Adult Education Centers will remain closed to the public through April 26th in accordance with Governor Polis’ executive order. We will re-open when conditions are deemed safe.

This closure includes in-person classes, Pearson Vue testing and all other in-person activity.

If you were scheduled for a Pearson Vue test, Pearson Vue will be contacting you with information on the closure.

Teachers are holding remote learning opportunities for current students.

Update 3/23/2020:

The Durango and Cortez Adult Education Centers are working to develop a plan to continue serving students through distance and virtual learning.

Our offices will remain closed to the public through April 17th in accordance with Governor Polis’ executive order. We will re-open when conditions are deemed safe.

This closure includes in-person classes, Pearson Vue testing and all other in-person activity.

If you were scheduled for a Pearson Vue test, Pearson Vue will be contacting you with information on the closure.

Teachers will be contacting students to plan remote learning opportunities.

DAEC is committed to serving our region with exceptional Adult Education, and will continue to be creative in how we do that given our changing situation.

Update 3/14/2020:

The DURANGO ADULT EDUCATION CENTER (DAEC) will be closed this upcoming week for their regularly scheduled Spring Break (3/16/20-3/20/20) plus two additional days, Monday, 3/23/20 & Tuesday, 3/24/20.

These two additional days (3/23 & 3/24) will be used by staff to formulate a remote-learning plan and communicate with students.

This is the same closure schedule announced by the Durango 9R School District.

The CORTEZ ADULT EDUCATION CENTER (CAEC) will be closed starting Monday, 3/16/20 and will continue the closure through their scheduled Spring Break. They will re-open on Monday 3/30/20. Staff will be communicating educational instructions to students during this time.

This is the same closure announced by the Montezuma-Cortez School District.
