Want to pass that GED math test after just 7 weeks of math class?
Join us for Summer School – Monday, June 29 through Aug 14
Classes will meet Monday through Friday using the on-line meeting platform called Zoom. Every student will receive a workbook and some supplies. Mary Mullen (the real live teacher from Durango) will teach.
How will the Zoom class work?
During the first ½ hour, students will warm up by working an assigned page from the workbook while tuned in to Zoom. Mary will be right there on the other end of your computer, ready to answer questions and provide help with the worksheet. Next, Mary will teach the lesson for an hour. “Lessons” often involve activities such as measuring, spinning spinners, recording data, making graphs, and so forth. Each lesson is tied to one or more sections of the on-line platform called KET Fast Forward. Each student will be issued a user name and password to use KET. Every day, students will be assigned a section (or two) from KET which they work at their own pace after the Zoom class ends.
How will I know when I am ready to take the Math GED test?
On Fridays, students will take practice tests and when those scores become big enough, students will be scheduled to take (and pass!) the GED (or HiSet) math test.
Cost: $0. (No registration fee, no testing fees.)
Students need internet and a computer (but we may be able to lend a Chromebook.)
Schedule: Class will meet at 10:30 – 12:00, Monday – Friday.
To Register: Contact Libby by phone or e-mail by Thursday, June 25.
