Make a Difference by Volunteering in Education

Volunteer at the DAEC and help create a better life for someone through an enhanced education or improved language skills. Every year more than 50 people volunteer in our programs and assist with our special events. DAEC’s volunteers receive training and support. Tutors work one-on-one or with small groups of students. Tutoring supplements class work for individuals needing extra help or for those who cannot attend class regularly. Our tutors make a big difference in student success. If you’re looking to serve your community in a caring environment with teaching styles that support the individual needs of each student, contact us today.

We are currently looking for experienced teachers to tutor students. Please email Libby Baumchen if you are interested in helping a student achieve their educational goals.

Some Facts About Volunteering

Did you know that volunteering can help reduce stress? Experts report that when we are focused on something other than ourselves it interrupts tension-producing patterns. Positive moods and emotions also strengthen our immune system. Additionally, volunteering is a great way to test out potential career paths and discover hidden talents within ourselves, fostering greater self-worth.
