Our center meets Pearson VUE’s strict criteria for facilities, equipment, security, and minimization of distractions.

Register for Your Test

To schedule an exam with Pearson VUE, visit their test-taker homepage and use the search bar to find the name of the certifying organization who manages your exam. Or you can select it from an alphabetical list. The certifying organization is the organization who develops and owns the exam you’re taking. For example, if you’re taking the exam to become an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), the testing organization is the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT).

Once you locate the certifying organization, click on it to learn details about the exam as well as instructions on how to schedule it. You will need to create a Pearson VUE account in order to schedule your exam (you will see a “Create Account” button on the right hand panel). When prompted to choose a testing location, be sure to select the Durango Adult Education Center as your testing site. Be aware that not all Pearson VUE exams are available at our testing site. Please see the the next section, below, for further information. Upon confirming the booking, you will receive a confirmation email from Pearson VUE which will contain information such as the time, date and location of your test, including directions to the test center.

Test Availability

If you need to complete your exam by a specific timeframe or date, it is best to schedule it in advance. This is for several reasons:

  • Our testing center is only open two Friday’s per month and drops down to one Friday per month during the summer (June – August).
  • We book our testing slots on a first come, first serve basis. If you do not see your desired day on Pearson VUE, it means that our testing slots have all been booked and that day is no longer available.
  • If your exam is several hours long, our center may not have an extended time slot available if you attempt to schedule it too late.

It should be noted that not all Pearson VUE exams are available at all testing sites. It is up to each certifying organization to decide which test centers to use, and, unfortunately, there is not a way for us to request that an exam be available. Even Pearson VUE, themselves, has no authority behind this; the decision of exam locations relies solely upon each certifying organization. If you do not see our testing site listed for your exam, then we do not have access to it and it cannot be administered by us. In this instance, simply select the nearest testing location for your exam site. We apologize for this inconvenience.
